Costa Rica Adventure Vacations. Whee!
Costa Rica adventure vacations abound. Really, it's hard NOT to have a glorious adventure in this beautiful country full of natural wonders. Zip lining, waterfall rappelling, snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking -- Costa Rica has it all.
Zip lining in Costa Rica
Foxy and I zip lined at Los Canyones, a rainforest canopy tour located inside the Los Lagos resort in the Arenal Volcano region. It cost $45 per person and included all-day use of the resort facilities, one of which is pictured here. We zip lined twelve different lines and had a fantastic experience. Hard not to love whizzing over a rainforest canyon at 35 mph, right?
More Costa Rica Adventures
Unless it's really peak season, you don't have to organize your adventures ahead of time. Plenty of guides are available to help you get where you want to go, and your hotel or hostel manager will be able to help you find the best deals around.
Generally, waterfalls and zip lining are in the Arenal and rainforest part of Costa Rica, while the beachy stuff is, um, at the beach. :) (There are waterfalls near the beach, though.) We got the best prices for Costa Rica adventure vacations fun by asking the locals what to do. We snorkeled the Caribbean with Adventuras Con King, the world's best-looking snorkel instructor, for $25 each (a bargain), we frolicked in the thermal river -- that is, a hot river, warmed by the Arenal volcano's lava -- in the rainforest for absolutely free on the advice of Kelly at Essence Arenal, and we explored by bike and foot. That's all you need for a grand adventure! Let the spirit move you, honey.
Come on, tell us about your Costa Rica adventures! We wanna see pictures. Pronto!
